The village of Matemwe, with its fishermen and villagers collecting octopus and seaweeds at low tide, is just 5 minutes away. Its garden is beautifully planted with a range of indigenous flowering plants and features an infinity pool looking out onto the vast turquoise Indian Ocean. The spectacular view also features a wealth of elegant palms, the exquisite coral reef and Mnemba Island to the north. The main house comprises a modern, fully equipped and open plan kitchen, leading down to a spacious and charming living area - perfect for relaxing in with a cup of refreshing lemongrass tea, while you enjoy the delightful view. From there, enter out onto the shaded decking area with stylish loungers for you to enjoy the kaskazi (monsoon) breeze.  Kandili villa is managed by a professional and friendly team. Other services offered: a chef, daily cleaning services, laundry, bicycles, internet and airport transfers. Customised tours and excursions can be arranged for you by the manager. The location of the villa allows for swift access to the coral reef and the nearby beach is perfect for walks at sunrise. The numerous rock pools will also keep younger visitors entertained. In Matemwe and on Mnemba island there are 5* PADI diving schools that offer a range of courses, superb dive trips and snorkelling excursions. You will also find kite surfing available.

Suitable for 2 up to 10 guests. The main house comprises of a modern open plan kitchen, leading down to a spacious living area, perfect for relaxing, while you enjoy the stunning view. From there you can enter out onto the shaded decking area where you will find stylish loungers. Leading up from the kitchen, a staircase takes you up to the master suite, complete with two balconies, a contemporary style bath and Zanzibari furniture, including a romantic Swahili bed. The villa also includes three more Swahili inspired bedrooms, complete with modern en-suites which lead onto a small secluded private garden and their own private decking areas – one of which is set to the side of the villa itself to allow for additional privacy.   Rates include: Staffed property, housekeepers, gardeners, pool and security, manager on site, satellite TV, DVD player in the living room, WI-FI and air conditioning in all bedrooms, mosquito nets, 3-pin English plugs, pool, all bedrooms with verandas and en suite bathrooms (hot water), his & hers bathrobes, linen and towels, beach towels and sunbeds.

Deposit and cancellation policy

A 15% deposit is due and payable upon booking. This deposit is non-refundable.

The balance is due upon arrival at the hotel. Should you cancel a confirmed booking, a cancellation fee in percentage of the total costs of the booking will be charged. For cancellations received 30 to 15 days prior to scheduled arrival, 50% of total costs will be charged in addition to the non-refundable deposit. For cancellations received 14 to 7 days prior to scheduled arrival, 75% of total costs will be charged in addition to the non-refundable deposit. For cancellations received 6 days or less prior to scheduled arrival or for no-show, 100% of total costs will be charged.
